Lola M. Balmer

COMO – Lola Montress Balmer, 98, a native of Northampton County, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie. She had been preceded in death by her husband, Grady Balmer and parents, William Obie Davis and Vida Mae Barnes Wills.
Mrs. Balmer attended BuckHorn Baptist Church and worked at a country store in Como called Balmers Grocery. She loved animals, always having a pet as long as she was able and she, especially, loved gardening. Mrs. Balmer lived life simply and on her own terms.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara Jean Liverman of Murfreesboro; three grandsons, Paul Liverman and Ken Liverman of Como, and Brett Liverman of Sparta, NC; and one great granddaughter, Morgan Liverman, and one great grandson, Jackson Liverman.
A graveside service for Mrs. Balmer was held Sunday in Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro with Pastor Monica Beacham presiding. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to share a memorial gift please do so to Murfreesboro United Methodist Church, Buckhorn Baptist Church, or Como Volunteer Fire Department.
