The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man early Christmas morning after they received a call of a home invasion and pursued his vehicle into North Carolina.

Jarvis Allen Holley, 25, of 130 Pinetops Road, Murfreesboro, was allegedly among four armed men in masks who entered a residence in the 25000 block of Tennessee Road in the Adams Grove area of Southampton County, VA at 2:43 a.m. Dec. 25. There, they forced a woman and her daughters into a bedroom while stealing presents, cash and credit cards.

“The victim was ordered to call her husband to come home,” Major Gene H. Drewery, spokesman for the sheriff’s office said. “When the husband came home, the robbers fired shots at him.”

The man was not injured, and his wife was able to give a description of the thieves’ vehicle.

“Southampton County deputies located the vehicle on Southampton Parkway near Capron,” Drewery said. “The suspect would not stop and deputies pursued the vehicle into Hertford County, North Carolina.”

Officers in the Tar Heel State deployed spike strips, forcing the vehicle to a stop in a trailer park off of Leaf Road near Murfreesboro. Holley, who remains in custody as a fugitive at the Hertford County Jail, faces charges in Virginia of misdemeanor eluding; felony burglary or home invasion; felony grand larceny; felony abduction and felony use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

There is no information at this time about the other three suspects.
