JACKSON – Two recent, unrelated murders are still under investigation by the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
The first murder was reported Dec. 24 when family members discovered 85-year-old Harvey Davis dead in his Severn home.
An autopsy Dec. 28 disclosed that the elderly man had been murdered.
The second murder under investigation occurred about 1 a.m. March 9 in Gaston.
In that case, four armed men wearing bandanas for masks broke into a home on Firman Myrick Street in Gaston that was occupied by a lady and five children.
The invaders performed a quick search of the home and then exited the home out the back door.
Northampton Sheriff Jack Smith said several shots were fired after the intruders had exited the home.
The Gaston Police Department responded to the scene and discovered the body of Terriel Terick High, 29, of Gaston shot dead.
The sheriff said, “I feel confident the Mr. High was one of the suspects in the home invasion.”
He also said no one in the home was injured.
Sheriff Smith said both investigations are on-going.
He is asking anyone with information about either case to please contact the Sheriff’s Department at 252-534- 2611 or the Northampton Crime Stoppers at 252-534-1110. All information will be kept confidential.
