WINTON – Hertford County local government Finance Officer Robbin Stephenson faces an upcoming month-long suspension from her job.

Hertford County Manager Loria Williams confirmed that information on Friday, saying that Stephenson, who has worked for the county in excess of 20 years, will be officially suspended for 30 days effective July 1.

Williams added that the suspension is without pay.

The County Manager stated that she personally took the disciplinary action against Stephenson for, “failure and negligence in the performance of her duties.”

“We hold all of our employees accountable for their actions,” Williams said.

When asked to offer more details on the reason for the suspension, Williams declined further comment, citing the county’s personnel policy.

Williams did say that Stephenson will return to her job on Aug. 1.
