Harris attends Resource Conservation Workshop

RALEIGH – Gregory L. Harris, Jr. of Northampton County recently attended the 53rd Annual Resource Conservation Workshop in Raleigh on the campus of North Carolina State University for a week of intense natural resource education.
The workshop is organized and hosted by the NC Division of Soil and Water Conservation. Approximately 92 students from across North Carolina attended the workshop this year where resource specialist provided instruction on various natural resource areas, which included soil conservation, soil science, forestry and wildlife biology.
The Northampton Soil and Water Conservation District sponsored Harris to attend the workshop. The workshop is open to NC rising seniors each year and provides students a brief introduction to college level instruction in the field of Natural Resource Management.
Harris attended the Northampton Soil & Water Conservation District Board meeting on July 18 and provided a report to the Board about his experience while attending the workshop.
