AHOSKIE – Christine Pierce Evans of Ahoskie passed away August 1, 2016 in her home.
She was born in Hertford County to the late Luther and Odie Pierce. She worked for over 25 years as a clerk at Belk-Tyler Department Store.

Preceding her in death was her beloved husband of over 50 years, Thaddeus Evans; her sister, Doris James; three brothers, Edward, Robert and Norfleet; three sisters-in-law, Rose June, Susan, and Celestine; and one brother-in-law, Robert James.
She is survived by her three children, Thaddeus Evans and his wife Barbara, Shelia Dale Ramos and her husband James, and Nolen and his friend Cynthia; two brothers, Luther and Leroy; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Troy, Cheryl, Jason, Erica and Michelle; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Ahoskie. Rev. William Ashe will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Plains Church Cemetery.
