HARRELLSVILLE – Leslie H. Askew, 63, of Harrellsville, NC, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2016 after a brief and sudden illness.

She was employed for 30 years at Vident Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

Leslie is survived by her daughter, Donna Sessoms (Robert) of Raleigh, NC; brother, Bill Henry (Helen) of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters Mary Felts (George) of Virginia Beach, VA and Lynn Royster (Bob) of Ahoskie, NC; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and best friend, Geri Schwebel (Wayne) of Haddonfield, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy R. Askew; and son, James R. Chappell.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Church of Murfreesboro, 101 Rhue St, Murfreesboro, NC 27855. A reception will be held afterwards at the Murfree Center, 201 E. Broad St, Murfreesboro, NC 27855.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the hospice house that took excellent care of her. Make checks payable to Johnston Health Foundation. Please earmark the donations for the Hospice Fund and mark it “In Memory of Leslie Askew”. When donations made in her name reach $300, she will receive a leaf on their Gold Leaf Tree (tree of life).
