‘Dig Pink’ Cancer Awareness Night

MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University volleyball team in conjunction with the Chowan athletic department and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host their annual Dig Pink Cancer Awareness Night on Monday, Oct. 17.

The Hawks take on Lincoln University (PA) at 6 p.m. in the Helms Center in a CIAA Northern Division match-up. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in show of support of the fight against cancer.

There will be contests and giveaways over the course of the evening with any dollars raised benefitting the Side-Out Foundation, one started to support cancer research and cancer patients nationwide.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be “pinking” out the lobby of the Helms Center where fans can purchase “pink” items. A nail salon, cotton candy, and face painting will be available for fans throughout the match.

In between the second and third sets of the match, Chowan volleyball players will choose random fans who are dressed in pink to participate in a serving contest. Prizes will be awarded to contestants.
