JACKSON – Northampton County Manager Kimberly Turner introduced Nathan Pearce, the county’s new assistant county manager, to the Board of Commissioners on Oct. 17.
Pearce, of Murfreesboro, has no prior government experience, but holds a business degree from East Carolina University.
He said he applied for the position because it is an opportunity to put his degree to good use.
“I look forward to learning about governmental policies and issues we have with Ms. Turner’s guidance,” Pearce said.
During his brief time with the county, he said things are going well.
“There’s something different every day,” he said, “It keeps you on your toes.”
Turner said she is sending Pearce to all county local government offices to learn what they are responsible for and how they do things.
She said she started as assistant county manager before being named county manager.
“He needs to know the day-to-day operations of the county,” Turner said.
Pearce said, “I want to thank the county for this opportunity and I look forward to working with everybody and helping in any way I can.”
