AULANDER, NC – Mr. Franklin Steven Lassiter, age 71, of Aulander, NC, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Lassiter was born July 15, 1945 in Bertie County, NC, the son of the late Clingy Lassiter Sr. and Mary Congleton Lassiter. He was also predeceased by his wife, Janice Lassiter; and a sister, Emma Lassiter Dickerson.

Mr. Lassiter was a former member of the Aulander Rescue Squad and Aulander Fire Department. He was also a member of the National Guard.

He is survived by his sister, Teresa Brinkley; his brother, Clingy Lassiter Jr. and his wife Mandy; his nephews, Michael Lassiter, and Marty Stephenson; his niece, Renee Lassiter Hoggard; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Aulander, NC with Rev. Greg Hurdle officiating. Burial will follow at Aulander Cemetery.
