AHOSKIE – Adele Aycock Vice President/City Executive with Murfreesboro State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU), and Brian Horton, SECU Board Member, presented scholarship certificates to four deserving Roanoke-Chowan Community College (R-CCC) students.

Recipients of the Fall 2016 Continuing Education Scholarship program are Peggy Cary, Yvonne Cross, Hope Jones, and Janvelle Sutton.

Since the summer of 2013, the SECU has awarded 44 Continuing Education scholarships to local citizens in the Roanoke-Chowan area who were interested in returning to school for a short-term training course to advance in their respective professions. The SECU has invested over $33,000 in training local residents in the high demand field of healthcare.  Applications are currently being accepted to award six more scholarships for the spring 2017 semester.
