PENNSDALE, PA – Virginia “Jinny” Lantz Fringer, 82, of Pennsdale, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, March 17, 2017 at her residence with her family at her side.

Born January 5, 1935 in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Eleanor (DeHaven) Lantz.

Jinny was a 1956 graduate of Elmira College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English. Upon graduation from college, she moved to Hartford, Conn. to work for the Travelers Life Insurance Company. While there, she met Robert Yocum, of Moorestown, NJ. They married and ultimately moved to Texas to work for Lee Carpet Company. Unfortunately, Robert was killed in a car accident, leaving Jinny with a one year old son and expecting another child.

Following her husband’s death, Jinny moved to Willingboro, NJ. While living there she met Robert Fringer and they were married December 26, 1965. Several years later the couple had a daughter, Catherine Anne.

Jinny and Bob lived in Willingboro, NJ and then Newtown, PA. Upon Bob’s retirement, they moved to Colerain, NC where they resided until 2016. Jinny was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Edenton, NC, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was fond of tennis, home craft projects and reading. Jinny was a devoted mother who always wanted the best for her children. Family health issues prompted them to move to Muncy, where they resided with their daughter and her family.

Just prior to Jinny’s death the immediate family gathered together and held a celebration of life ceremony where they recalled the good times enjoyed by Jinny and the family.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert H. Fringer and Maureen Brehm of Westfield, NJ and David L. Fringer, of Trevose, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Anne and Christopher Marion, of Muncy, PA; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

In addition to her first husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy McMahon and Patricia Blake.
