AHOSKIE – Mable Caroline Ayscue Jernigan 93, of Ahoskie died Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

Mable was born in Chesterfield County, Virginia on January 3, 1924 to the late Robert Lee and Carine Baker Ayscue. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Jernigan. She was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jernigan of Ahoskie; her son, Lloyd Carl “J.C.” Jernigan and his wife, Charlotte of Ahoskie; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 25, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Massey Funeral Home in Aulander with Rev. Johnny Byrum and Rev. J. N. Baggett officiating.

Burial will follow in Stoney Creek Cemetery in Ahoskie.

The family received friends on Friday at the funeral home.
