AHOSKIE – Kinston Post 43 beat Ahoskie Post 102, 14-13, in extra innings in a senior American Legion game here Sunday night.

Kinston leads 4-2 after four innings. Post 43 scores one run in the top of the fifth. Ahoskie scores one run in the bottom of the fifth on a Chuck Lee RBI groundout. Kinston leads 5-3 after five innings.

Post 43 scores two runs in the top of the sixth and lead 7-3 after six innings.

Kinston adds two runs in the top of the seventh and lead 9-3 going to the bottom of the seventh.

Ahoskie scores eight runs in the bottom of the seventh. Ron Olsen walks, steals second and goes to third on a wild pitch. Olsen scores on a Jarrett Harrell sacrifice fly. Lee walks. Slade Cowan singles. Nathan Rowe walks to load the bases. Lee scores on a wild pitch. Cowan scores as Daquan Wilson reaches on an error. Rowe scores on a Matthew Weaver RBI single to left. D.J. Smith walks to load the bases. Wilson, Weaver, and Smith score on an Olsen grand slam homer to center. Ahoskie leads 11-9 after seven innings.

Kinston scores four runs in the top of the eighth and lead 13-11.

Ahoskie scores two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Wilson walks, Weaver has an infield single. Wilson scores as Smith reaches first on an error. Olsen walks to load the bases. Harrell has a RBI groundout. Lee walks to reload the bases with one out. A strikeout and a flyout to center end the inning. The game is tied at 13-13 to force extra innings.

Kinston scores the winning run in the top of the tenth. In the bottom of the tenth, Wilson has a one out walk but two flyouts end the game with the 14-13 final.

Smith is the losing pitcher in relief for Post 102.

Ahoskie is 1-11 overall and 1-9 in the conference.
