Northampton Co. student attends Resource Conservation Workshop

RALEIGH – Isiah Bishop recently attended the 54th annual Resource Conservation Workshop in Raleigh at the campus of North Carolina State University for a week of intense natural resource education.
The workshop is organized and hosted by the North Carolina Division of Soil and Water Conservation. Approximately 96 students from across
North Carolina attended the workshop this year where resource specialist provided instruction on various natural resource areas, which included soil conservation, soil science, forestry and wildlife biology.
The Northampton Soil and Water Conservation District sponsored Bishop to attend the workshop.
The workshop is open to rising high school juniors and seniors in North Carolina each year and provides students a brief introduction to college level instruction in the field of Natural Resource Management.
Bishop attended the Northampton Soil & Water Conservation District Board Meeting on July 17 and provided a report to the Board about his experience while attending the workshop.
