AULANDER, NC – Garvan “GC” Carroll Hall, age 74, passed away on September 19, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.
He was born on July 8, 1943 to Garvin and Foye Rawls Hall in Hertford County, NC. GC served in the National Guard for seven years. He worked as a supervisor for Hertford County Maintenance before retirement. GC was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved all animals, especially his dogs and horses, and going to horse auctions. GC was a true cowboy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Matthews.
“GC” is survived by his loving wife, Becky; son, Greg Hall and wife Dorothy K. of Harrellsville, NC; three granddaughters, Brittney Dunlow and husband David of Ahoskie, Audrey Hall and fiancée Bo Edwards of Ahoskie, and Bri’anna Edwards and husband William of Colerain, NC; grandson, Adam Hapgood and wife Pamela of Wilmington, NC; four great-grandsons, Isaac Dunlow, Colton Edwards, Cloey Edwards, Braden Hapgood; sister, Minerva Matthews and husband Bobby of Aulander; nephew, Marty Matthews and wife Sheila of Aulander; niece, Lori Parker and husband Joey of Aulander; great-nephew, Cody Matthews; and great-niece, Kaitlyn Parker; along with numerous cousins.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Taylor Latham, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Hall-Rogerson Cemetery in Aulander, NC.
