MURFREESBORO – Emma Lee Joyner of Murfreesboro, NC departed this life on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Accordius Health at Creekside Care in Ahoskie, NC.

A native of Northampton County, she was born on June 7, 1926 to the late Bozella Joyner and Effie Newsome Joyner.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her two daughters, Emma Jeanette Joyner of Murfreesboro, NC and Florine Jordan of Chester, VA; two sons, George Joyner of Richmond, VA and Robert Joyner of Murfreesboro, NC; and sister-in-law, Ethel Joyner of Pendleton, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to “The Building Fund” of St. John A.M.E. Church in Conway.

Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Hunter’s Funeral Home of Murfreesboro, who is handling the arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro.
