JACKSON – A 19-year-old Enfield girl died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash outside Jackson on Wednesday.

According to a preliminary report by NC Highway Patrol Trooper D.L. Edwards, Mallori Regan was driving west on Highway 158 when she lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The only contributing factor in the crash, which occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m., was she crossed the centerline of the highway.

She was transported to Halifax Regional and then flown to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where she succumbed to her injuries.

It was reported that Regan had been out applying for jobs at the time of crash.
