Roxobel Ag Fest, April 7

ROXOBEL – The Community Enrichment Group of Roxobel, Inc. is hosting the 2nd annual Roxobel Ag Festival on April 7.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk and 1 mile fun run. This event is a sanctioned race through USA Track and Field with timing for the race provided by Run the East. Pre-registration is available through Run the East (www.runtheeast.com) or by contacting Danielle Baker at dbaker@bakerspeanuts.com or 252-344-2120 or the morning of the race beginning at 7 a.m. Pre-registration is $25 for adults (ages 16 and over) and $10for kids under age 16. All participants who pre-register are guaranteed to receive a t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded in various categories.

The annual Ag Fest parade will begin at 10 a.m. with a variety of entries including antique tractors, high school band, JROTC, motorcycles, horses and more.

The event also features a large variety of vendors on site selling their goods and there will be musical entertainment throughout the day.

At 4 p.m. the Roxobel Volunteer Fire Department will be serving BBQ chicken plates. The entertainment will end at 6 pm.

There is still time to become a vendor, enter the parade or be a sponsor for the event.

The Community Enrichment Group of Roxobel, Inc. was formed as a non-profit organization to enrich the lies of those in and around our community by promoting a better sense of community awareness, bringing more resources to the area, and enhancing the town aesthetically. The group is currently raising funds to build a park/playground for the town.
