WINDSOR, NC – Earl Wayne “Lucky” Ray, 68, of 1437 Cooper Hill Road, Windsor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 3:12 a.m., in UNC Rex Hospital, Raleigh, where he was surrounded by his family.

Born in Bertie County on October 12, 1949, he was the son of the late Bill Jake and Nina Davis Ray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clayton, C.J., Billy, and Jimmy.

Earl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Robin; his three children, Toni (Jimmy), Jennifer (Jonathan), and Joey (Marie); seven grandchildren, Alysia, McKenzie, Hannah, Bryson, Raylen, Paisley, and Cooper; four sisters, Alma Gray, Dot, Jan, and Betty; and a brother, Dean.

Family and friends will be received at the home.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 13th, (the day after his 69th birthday) at the home, and the time will be added to this obituary when confirmed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
