The latest from Northampton County Emergency Management as of 9:48 a.m. Friday:

Florence’s threat to Northampton seems to be diminishing and most residents at the shelters have or are packing up so we will be closing all three shelters this morning in order to free up resources that are much needed in the devastated Southeastern part of the State.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
