ROANOKE RAPIDS – The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is seeking information on the next of kin of Edward Lee Murphy, age 55 of Roanoke Rapids.

Murphy was hospitalized around 7:30 am on Wednesday due a medical condition. He is in critical condition and is expected to be transferred to another medical facility for further treatment of the condition.

Murphy is locally known in Roanoke Rapids/Weldon area as the man who lives under the I-95 bridge at Becker Drive Extension.

Murphy has no known next of kin or family in the Roanoke Valley area. He has connections to the High Point, Greensboro and Ahoskie areas.
