Vauda H. Parker

KELFORD, NC – Vauda Hoggard Parker, age 90, passed away on November 20, 2018 at the Roanoke Landing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Plymouth, NC.
Mrs. Parker was born in Lewiston, Bertie County, NC, on January 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Austin Hoggard. Vauda was an active member of Kelford Baptist Church for many years. She loved working in her yard, growing flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren who she adored. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Vauda was preceded in death by her husband, Troy L. Parker, Sr.; two sons, Harold Leslie Parker, and Robert Wayne Parker; and a grandson, Neil Parker.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Sterling Parker and wife, Beverly of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Troy Parker Jr. and wife, Judy of St. John, NC, and Bailey Parker and wife, Donna of Kelford, NC; two grandsons, David Parker, and Bryan Parker; six granddaughters, Hope Eure, Lori Smith, Jennifer Parker, Jaime Parker, Brittany Burgess, and Christie Jernigan; and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Ruth Mitchell and husband, Jack of Washington, NC, and Jean Harrington of Rich Square, NC; a sister-in-law, Francis Hoggard of Raleigh, NC; and a niece, Jackie Mitchell of Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends at the home.
A celebration of life service was held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Kelford Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry McCarty officiating. Burial followed in the Roxobel-Kelford Cemetery.
