Attempted murder charges filed

AHOSKIE – A domestic violence situation led to the recent arrest of an Ahoskie woman.

Adina Bianca Sears, 23, of Pine Street, stands charged with felonious attempted murder as well as assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Ahoskie Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh said the domestic violence situation occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on Jan. 21 at a residence located in the 500 block of Pine Street. There, Sears allegedly stabbed a male victim several times.

The victim was initially transported to Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie and later to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment of his injuries.

Fitzhugh said APD. Lt. Detective Jeremy Roberts investigated the case. The Chief stated Roberts, through his investigation, gained information and collected evidence that allowed him to arrest and charge Sears with the crime.
