William E. Outland

WOODLAND, NC – William Earl “Pipeman” Outland, 64, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Rich Square Nursing & Rehabilitation in Rich Square, NC.
Mr. Outland was born in Northampton County, July 5, 1954, son to Roger and Janet Collier Outland. He was retired from the State of North Carolina having worked for more than 30 years with the prisons, probation and parole, and as a police officer for the Town of Rich Square. While working for the State, he also had a plumbing business for 30 plus years and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and entertaining folks. Mr. Outland was a Mason for 25 plus years serving with the Pendleton Lodge #418.
In addition to his father, Mr. Outland was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Outland.
Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Outland of the home; son, William Outland, Jr. and wife, Cheryl, of Lasker, NC; two sisters, Kim Outland of Woodland, NC, and Sheila Crowder and husband, Danny, of Lasker, NC; three grandchildren, Greg Outland and wife, Vianca, Storie Outland, and Brian Outland; and one great- grandchild, Ian Outland. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Askew Funeral Service – Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC from 6-8 pm.
Rev. Ricky Barnes will conduct a service to remember Mr. Outland’s life on Saturday, March 9, 2019 in the chapel of Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC beginning at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made in honor of William Earl Outland to: The American Cancer Society: Conquer Cancer Foundation, PO Box 896076, Charlotte, NC 28289-6076.
