RICH SQUARE – A single vehicle motor vehicle accident here Wednesday morning sent three to the hospital and left a local woman facing charges.

Trooper Stephen Parrish of the North Carolina Highway Patrol charged 39-year-old Stephanie Dawn Ayers of Cofield with driving while her license were revoked and failing to maintain lane control.

Parrish’s report showed that Ayers was operating a 2003 Ford passenger car east on NC 561/305 just outside of Rich Square at the time of the accident. The vehicle, Parrish said, traveled off the roadway to the right where it collided with a ditch and then a tree. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its side in a ditch near the intersection of NC 561/305 and Lover’s Lane Road.

Ayers and her two passengers were injured, but none appear to be serious.
