AHOSKIE, NC – Marian Early Wynn, age 91, formerly of Aulander, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Accordius Health at Creekside Care of Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Wynn was born on June 28, 1927 to the late John Finch and Hazel Midgett Early in Bertie County, NC. She was a graduate of Aulander High School and East Carolina Teachers College. Marian was a devoted Christian woman and was a member of Aulander Baptist Church where she served as a teacher of youth classes and GA’s. Marian taught grades K-3 at Ahoskie Graded School for 25 years before retiring. She then continued her works as a sales representative for Eastern Office Equipment Co. for many years and then with the Aulander Nutrition Site as long as her health permitted. Marian organized and led the first AA group in Aulander.
She was a loving, caring, kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as helping others in the community. She was a vital part of the Aulander Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and the Aulander VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Marian is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Wynn Beverley and husband Bill of Richmond, VA, and Georgia Wynn Copeland and husband Bill of Ahoskie; son, John Edward Wynn of Ahoskie; three grandsons, Richard Scott Joyner and wife Sarah of Warrenton, VA, C Eric Joyner and wife Amber of Knoxville, TN, and Will Chamblee and wife Landis of Ahoskie; four great-granddaughters, Kenlee Joyner, Lochlynne Joyner, Silas Joyner, and Helen Chamblee; two great-grandsons, Wynn Joyner, and Mac Chamblee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Aulander Baptist Church, Aulander, NC, with the Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Roy Faison, officiating. Burial will follow at the Aulander Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and residents at Accordious Health at Creekside, Dr. Charles Sawyer and Dr. Julian Taylor for their unconditional love and care for Marian during her decline in health.
