MARYLAND – Edith Rose Perry, age 79, formerly of Hertford County, NC, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2019.

Miss Perry was born on July 23, 1939 to Percy Winborne Perry and Hattie Ellen Copeland Perry in Hertford County, North Carolina. Edith was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She attended Mars Hill High School and was an outstanding basketball player. Edith loved sports, watching NASCAR races and football games were a couple of her favorite past times. She was a secretary for many years. Edith loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, Edith is preceded in death by three sisters, Judith Ellen Harris, Elsie Gray Harrison, and Jean Frances Castellow.

Left to cherish Edith’s memory is her sister, Erlene Perry Davis or Pendleton, NC; her brother, Winborne Earl Perry of Fairfax, VA; a very dear friend and caregiver, Nancy Hawk and her family; along with eleven nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 am at Meherrin Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John Porter officiating.
