To the Editor:
What an awesome weekend – and celebration – of Bertie High School’s 5th anniversary. It was a weekend filled with many wholesome activities – a meet-and-greet in the park, music, food, a parade with retiree centennial Estelle Simons serving as Grand Marshal, a five-star banquet, and much more.
And even with all going on, Bertie High won its Homecoming football game!
All activities were well attended by alumni, retirees, friends, and family members. It was great to see the familiar faces of the retirees, former co-workers and students, and family and friends.
The banquet was a grand success – seasoned with good fellowship, entertainment, delicious food, recognitions, reminiscences, et cetera. Military personnel were recognized and there were memorial tributes for our deceased loved ones.
What hard work, dedication, perseverance, and love exhibited by Jackie Lyons-White and her committee for a job well done for the celebration of Bertie High School’s 50th anniversary. We salute and thank each of you for a joyous, delightful and peaceful weekend filled with love and togetherness.
Always keep the Falcon Pride!
