Rich Square man charged

RICH SQUARE – Rodney Arrington of Rich Square is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23 where he will answer to several drug related charges stemming from his arrest on Jan. 18.
Arrington, age 33, was charged with one count of felony possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle or place for a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He was placed under a $2,000 secured bond pending the court appearance.
According to Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, NCSO Deputy J. Comeaux conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Rich Square for a minor traffic violation on Jan. 18. Upon investigation and a search of the vehicle, Deputy Comeaux located 76.1 grams of marijuana within the vehicle.
Additionally, a weapon and $146 were also found and confiscated.
Jacobs said the investigation into the ownership/registration of the handgun was still ongoing as of today (Jan. 22).
