Following the lead of its public school counterparts, local private K-12 schools are closing as well for the next two weeks over health concerns associated with COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Officials with Ahoskie Christian School, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, Lawrence Academy, Northeast Academy and Ridgecroft School have closed their doors effective today (Monday). They will remain closed through at least Friday, March 27.
Lawrence Academy Headmaster Jason K. Wynne did provide additional information to the R-C News-Herald, saying, “We have a web-based platform in place and teachers will be meeting Monday morning to review all technological aspects so that we can deploy our e-learning environment on Tuesday.”
