Kindergarten registration has started at all three public elementary schools in Northampton County.

A Kindergarten enrollment packet is available on the district website, www.northampton.k12.nc.us, under

the “Find it Fast” section. Parents/guardians are asked to complete all portions of the packet in ink and drop off to the elementary school located in their attendance zone as

soon as possible.

If a parent/guardian needs a paper copy of the enrollment packet, they will need to contact their child’s assigned school. The contact information for each school is as follows:

Central Elementary School: (252) 534-3381

Gaston Elementary School: (252) 537-2877

Willis Hare Elementary School: (252) 585-1900

Prior to dropping off the enrollment packet, the parent/guardian should make a copy of the following items required for enrollment and submit with the packet:

Parent/legal guardian photo ID

Proof of residence

A certified copy of the child’s birth certificate

Immunization records

Custody documents

North Carolina law requires that a Kindergarten Health Assessment be completed on or before the first day of school before a child can enter Kindergarten. It is advised to schedule an appointment as soon as possible as they can be difficult to schedule closer to the first day of school.
