AHOSKIE – Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital announces that Brian White, Director of Strategic Operations, has been named director for the office of communications and marketing.
He now serves in a regional capacity, also providing marketing and public relations direction for Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton and Vidant Bertie Hospital in Windsor.
“We are pleased to welcome Brian White to our senior team at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital,” said Judy Bruno, president of Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital. “He brings many years of experience in marketing and community health in his role at Vidant Chowan and Bertie and is committed to continuing the excellent relationship the hospital has with the Roanoke-Chowan community.”
“I appreciate this wonderful opportunity to serve the Roanoke-Chowan community and continue the tradition of excellence established here,” said White. “I’m excited about what is to come as we work together to make a difference in the lives in the communities we serve.”
White replaces Lisa Newsome as she retired from the hospital after 25 years of service in May.
He is a resident of Edenton, where he serves as Director of Strategic Operations for Vidant Chowan and Vidant Bertie Hospitals. He has been with Vidant Health in public relations and marketing since 2008.
Newsome, who came to Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital from Vidant’s wellness department in Greenville in 1995, established the first wellness programs locally for the hospital and helped to open Vidant Wellness Center – Ahoskie. She brought in over $15 million in grant-funded programs to the Roanoke-Chowan area, including many community health programs and breast cancer awareness events, including Save our Sisters.
“Lisa will be sorely missed,” said Bruno. “Her contributions to the hospital, wellness center, and the community overall have made a significant impact to residents of Hertford County and the surrounding area. I appreciate her leadership and passion for making a difference and we wish her nothing but the best in her retirement.”
