AHOSKIE – Edna Loretta Mooney Harris, age 81, passed away on September 4, 2020 at Creekside Health & Rehabilitation of Ahoskie.
Mrs. Harris was born in St. Joseph, MO, on September 8, 1938, a daughter of the late Charles Clarence and Nellie Eisiminger Mooney. Loretta worked as a Billing/Counter Clerk for Boone-Taylor Pharmacy in Ahoskie, for over 20 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put family first, always attending her children’s and grandchildren’s ballgames. Loretta was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and loved her music.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by all her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Frankie Kirkland “Bucky” Harris; her daughter, Cyndy Harris Dilday and husband, Ken of Windsor, NC; her son, Randy Harris and wife, Donna of Fort Walton Beach, FL; two grandsons, Nathan Dilday and wife, Tricia Hise of Cornelia, GA, Patrick Dilday and fiance’, Kristen Broglin of Aulander, NC; two granddaughters, Amber Wolk and husband, Ethan of Laurel, MD, and Frankie Harris and fiance’ Chad Holloway of Fort Walton Beach, FL; three great grandsons, Max Daniel of Cornelia, GA, and Declan Cornett, and Killian Cornett of Laurel, MD; and two great granddaughters, Aubree Farmer of Aulander, NC, and Emory Holloway of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
A funeral mass was held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Ahoskie, NC, with Father Robert Schmid, officiating. Burial followed in the Ahoskie Cemetery.
