ROANOKE RAPIDS – The North Carolina Highway Patrol has a lost handgun in their possession and is asking for he owner of that weapon to come forward.

According to Sgt. Angel S. Genao, the weapon – a 9mm Taurus – is currently in safe-keeping at the NCHP’s Troop C / District 8 office. That office is located at 26 Three Bridges Road, Roanoke Rapids.

“The registered owner of that handgun is required to provide proper proof of ownership in order to claim the weapon,” Sgt. Genao stated.
