EDENTON, NC – Kathy Leary Hoggard, 73, a resident of Edenton House and formerly of Windsor, died Saturday, January 23, 2020.

She was born in Bertie County on January 18, 1948 to the late James Monroe and Hazel Jernigan Leary and was predeceased by her husband, Johnny Bruce Hoggard; a brother, Richard “Ricky” Leary; and a grandchild, Jessie.

Kathy, a homemaker, was a member of Republican Baptist Church, a store manager, tax collector, and restaurant cashier clerk.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Edgewood Cemetery in Windsor. Rev. Buck Leary will officiate.

Survivors include her sisters; Peggy L. Jordan and husband, Keith, of Tyner, and Pamela L. Britt and husband, Bennie, of Bonaire GA; brother, James David Leary and wife, Patsy, of Windsor; grandchildren, Jamie Whichard of Greenville, and Chris Perry of Colerain; great grandchildren, Kaelyn, Hunter, and Maddie Sutton of Greenville; many special nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and other extended family.
