CONWAY – Daphne Lassiter Wade, age 86, of US Hwy. 158, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Pine Forest Rest Home of Woodland, NC.

A native of Northampton County, Mrs. Wade was born on December 11, 1934 to Aaron Lassiter and Marie Flythe Lassiter in Creeksville, NC. She was a true classy lady that was stylish and very well-polished anytime you saw her. Daphne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She cherished time spent with her family, especially leaving her mark from her gracious kisses and her red lipstick. She was a lifelong dedicated member of Zion United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities as long as her health permitted. She served as president of the Women’s Missionary Society, Sunday school teacher, and sang joyfully as a member of the choir for many years. Daphne loved her God, church, family and friends. She enjoyed socializing with others, entertaining at her beautiful home, and she really enjoyed shopping trips with her girls. Daphne was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earvin Lee Wade; sisters, Ruby Johnson, and Sandra Spivey; and brother, Ronald Lassiter.

Daphne is survived by two daughters, Wanda Wade Jenkins and husband Floyd, and Kim Wade Lafferty and husband Danny, both of Conway; son, Lee Wade and wife Gail of Conway; sister, Rose Nall of Roanoke Rapids; three granddaughters, April Liverman and husband Jimmy of Conway, Shelly Hatcher of Conway, and Brittany Peele and husband Tripp of Willow Spring, NC; three grandsons, Scott Lafferty and wife Megan of Nashville, NC, Jonathan Jenkins and wife Logan of Emporia, VA, and Adam Wade and spouse Matthew Lenz of Raleigh, NC; six great-granddaughters, Ashton Liverman of Conway, Anna Liverman of Greenville, Allie Liverman of Conway, Kennedy Hatcher of Conway, Hayes Hatcher of Conway, and Layla Lafferty of Nashville; six great-grandsons, Carter Hatcher of Conway, Cain Lafferty of Nashville, Wade Jenkins of Emporia, Wes Jenkins of Garysburg, Owen Jenkins of Ahoskie, and Emery Jenkins of Emporia; brother-in-law, Tex Wade and wife Vicki of Franklin, VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2-2:45 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC with a celebration of life service following at 3 p.m. at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service Rich Square Chapel, with Rev. Willie McLawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Conway Cemetery, Conway NC.
