AHOSKIE – David Edward Dunn, IV, age 54, of Beechwood Road, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
David, born February 16, 1967 was the son of Joan “Libby” Williams and the late Ronnie Williams, Sr. From January 1991 and up until his death, he worked as an engineer for NCDOT. David took great pride in his work and treasured his DOT family. He was a loving husband, father, son, and grandfather to Case. He cherished his children and grandchild and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. David was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
David was preceded in death by his father, David “Buck” Edward Dunn, III; his stepfather, Ronnie Williams; and his father-in-law, G. Winston Warren, Sr.
Left to cherish David’s memory is his beloved wife, Joanna; his daughter, Chloe Dunn Eure and son-in-law, Carter Stallings Eure, Sr. of Harrellsville; his son, David “Finn” Edward Dunn, V of Ahoskie; his mother, Joan “Libby” Williams; grandson, Carter “Case” Stallings Eure, Jr.; his brother, Charles R. Williams, Jr. of Laurinburg, NC; his grandmother, Martha “Wilbur” Williams of Laurinburg, NC; mother-in-law, June B. Warren of Murfreesboro; sister-in-law, Cyndi W. Chamblee and husband Chris of Ahoskie; brother-in-law, G. W. “Chip” Warren, Jr. and wife Kristin of Windsor; four nephews, Baron Chamblee, Sawyer Chamblee, Winston Warren, and Wood Williams; two nieces, Kate Chamblee, and Eloise Warren; and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter and Rev. Dr. Trey Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro, NC.
