MURFREESBORO – The Chowan Athletic Department is accepting nominations for consideration into the Jim Garrison Hall of Fame.

The 2021 Hall of Fame induction ceremony is slated for Nov. 6 when the Chowan football team takes on Lincoln in the final regular season game.

Anyone interested in nominating a former athlete should submit a Hall of Fame nomination form with the suggested nominee’s summary of accolades and achievements while enrolled as a student-athlete at Chowan. In addition, additional information about the former student-athlete after leaving Chowan University should be submitted if it enhances the nominee’s nomination.

All suggested nominees should meet all requirements put in place by the Chowan University Athletics Hall of Fame By-Laws to include, but not limited to:

Attendance as an undergraduate student at Chowan University for no less than one (1) year as a member of an associate degree program or two (2) years as a member of a bachelor degree program. The nominee’s class shall have graduated for no less than ten (10) years as of September 1 in the year of selection.

Participation with distinction in intercollegiate athletics (at the conference, regional or national level), as a member of a university team OR a recognized success in sport (for at least three [3] years) after departing Chowan University who has conferred prestige and honor upon the university’s intercollegiate athletics program.

A university graduate or a student-athlete that left the university in good academic and athletic standing.

Demonstration of continued loyalty, integrity and morality.
