AULANDER – Barbara Riddick Bowen, 89, of NC Hwy 561 West, died Sunday, December 5, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. She was born May 28, 1932 to the late James Thomas and May Belle Jenkins Bowen and predeceased by her husband, Glenwood Franklin Bowen and a daughter, Donna Bowen. Barbara was a Methodist and a homemaker.

A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie. NC. Rev. Douglas Van Niel will officiate.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenda B. Newell and husband John of Wilmington; sister, Carolyn R. Wooten, and husband Ed of Clemmons; grandchildren, Jake Hewell and wife Allison, Ben Hewell, Nichole Howell; many loving nieces and nephews.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
