AHOSKIE – Roanoke Chowan Christian Women’s Job Corps will be offering new classes beginning March 18. Those classes will be held each Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The organization helps women with job skills and life skills to become more independent and reach their goals.
Classes include computer skills, parenting classes, how to repair your credit, budgeting, cooking, resume, interviewing, job search, etc. Assistance is also offered with achieving the National Career Readiness Certificate.
All classes are free, but you must be able to attend on Fridays for 16 weeks. The Friday meetings include lunch, mentoring, and bible study.
Participants are offered assistance with transportation and tuition for other school and work opportunities. In addition, there is a transitional house for women and their children if they have no where to live. You must be enrolled in the program to qualify for the transitional house assistance.
