MURFREESBORO – Margaret Jane McCrickard McLean, age 74, of High Street, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. McLean was born on September 21, 1947, to the late Clyde Nelson McCrickard and Virginia Turnbull McCrickard in Altavista, VA. Jane’s true calling was teaching, and she cherished her students. She earned a master’s degree in education and taught for 40 years. She was a devoted wife of 40 years and was always there to take care of her beloved husband, Tom. She was a fantastic cook, an avid reader, enjoyed needlepoint and other crafts, and learning about her family history. Jane thoroughly enjoyed life. She was loved by her family and many friends, and she will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish Jane’s memory is her loving husband, Thomas; and her sister, Carolyn McCall; along with extended family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Meherrin Baptist Church, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
