SPARKS, MD. – The USA Lacrosse Magazine named its Division II Men’s Lacrosse All-Americans for the 2022 season last week with Jackson Downs and Jaxon Martin representing the Chowan Men’s Lacrosse program.

Downs, First Team All-Conference Carolinas, posted 36 goals and 25 assists offensively, while producing 39 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers as a two-way midfielder. The Olney, Md. native ranked fourth in the league in assists per game (1.79) and third in points per game (4.36).

Martin, Second Team All-Conference Carolinas, led the Hawks with a single-season record 59 goals to go along with 20 assists and 79 points. Martin led the Conference Carolinas in goals and points.

The Jarvis, Ontario native ranked second in the NCAA in goals per game (4.21), third in man-up goals (12), second in points per game (5.64), and fourth in shot percentage (53.2%).

Both Downs and Martin were named USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American. Eight Conference Carolinas student-athletes were selected to the list.
