EURE, NC – Brenda Edwards Story, 76, of 471 US 13 South, Eure, NC, died early Friday morning, September 16, 2022 in ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie.

Mrs. Story was born in Hertford County on February 23, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Clifton and Mabel Chitty Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, H.C. Edwards.

A homemaker, she was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church.

Surviving is her husband, Edward S. Story; two daughters, Lisa Story and Mary Beth Haggitt; her grandson, Daniel Edward Haggitt (Brittany Williams); extended family, Dorothy and Merwin Bauerle; and her care-giver, Joan Long, all of Eure.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, September 18, at 3:00 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Ahoskie, and will be conducted by the Reverend Roger Kiker. Friends may visit with the family at the graveside immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Cool Spring Baptist Church, in care of Donna Doughtie, 363 Taylor Mill Road, Eure, NC 27935.
