MURFREESBORO – Chowan University has announced that Mark Hall has resigned as the school’s head football coach to accept the same position at UNC Pembroke.
UNC Pembroke held a press conference this morning (Wednesday) where Hall was introduced as the head football coach.
Hall spent the last 11 seasons on the sidelines at Chowan as the offensive coordinator (2008-2019) before becoming the head coach in 2020. At the helm for the past two seasons, Hall has compiled a 14-7 overall record while leading the program to their first ever national ranking, first ever CIAA Northern Division title and first ever appearance in the CIAA Championship game in 2022.
During his time with the Hawks, Hall has produced seven All-Americans, three CIAA Offensive Players of the Year, and 19 All-CIAA First Team selections. The Blue and White consistently ranked in the top-25 in the country in several offensive categories.
“We thank Coach Hall for everything he has done for the University and for the football program,” said Patrick Mashuda, Chowan’s Vice President of Athletics. “Coach Hall and his staff have been diligent in preparing the program for success. This year’s CIAA Northern Division Championship is just an example of that success playing out on the field. Of course, we will miss the work he has done here, but we wish Coach Hall and his family well.”
Chowan’s search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
