Lady Eagles win on the road

PANTEGO – Northeast Academy salvaged one win here Tuesday night as the Lady Eagles came away with a victory in Tarheel Independent Conference action at Terra Ceia Christian School.

In the varsity girls game, Northeast outscored their hosts 30-17 over the second and third quarters combined to collect a 43-34 victory.

Hayes Hatcher scored a game-high 17 points to pace Northeast. Gracie Baker also scored in double digits as she finished with 14 points.

Sarah Kate Ricks (6), Lindsay White (4), and Leah McDermott (2) rounded out the scoring for the Lady Eagles.

In varsity boys play, Northeast was outscored 27-3 in the third quarter en route to a 69-34 setback.

Dawson Vann, Chance Lassiter, and Jaden Medford scored eight points each to lead the Eagles.

Northeast dropped both junior varsity games.

In the jv girls contest, Terra Ceia won 41-31. Arland Davis scored 23 points to lead Northeast.

The outcome of the jv boys game was decided in the early stages as Terra Ceia built a 24-8 halftime lead en route to a 40-20 win. Preston Ordnung paced Northeast with six points.

Northeast returns to the hardcourt on Friday when they host Ridgecroft School in TIC action. The jayvee girls tip off at 4 p.m. to open a four-game set.
