Roanoke Valley Lumber to conduct hiring event on Feb. 16

WELDON – Roseburg Forest Products’ Roanoke Valley Lumber announced that it has officially opened hiring opportunities for more than 30 positions at its brand-new lumber mill in Weldon. The new 375,000-square-foot, high-capacity dimensional lumber mill is set to open later this year.
“We are looking for team members who want to be empowered and engaged to help us run a successful business,” said Adam Reed, Roanoke Valley Lumber plant manager.
Available, full-time positions include Operations Technician and Maintenance Technician. Operations Technicians will be responsible for the daily operation of the lumber manufacturing process and equipment, while Maintenance Technicians will be hired to safely and effectively perform precision maintenance and repairs.
Total annual compensation for each position starts at $55,600 and $62,550. Total annual compensation packages include base salary, full family medical and dental insurance, three weeks’ vacation, 11 paid holidays, 401(k) with company match, short-term disability, life insurance, and tuition assistance.
Roanoke Valley Lumber will host an in-person hiring event on Thursday, Feb. 16, at its facility at 1710 Watkins Drive from 3-7 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Roanoke Valley Lumber team for on-the-spot interviews and learn about the company’s history, values, and commitment to the community.
