Bertie Sheriff files charges in catalytic converter thefts

WINDSOR – The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges in the break-up of a tri-county catalytic converter theft ring.
Sheriff Tyrone Ruffin said the catalytic converter thefts investigated by his office began May 17 and continued through May 30. There were five victims in Bertie County and a total of 10 vehicles were damaged, not including Windsor.
Investigators with Bertie County Sheriff’s Office were able to develop leads in the case. They also made contact with Windsor Police Department, Northampton County Sheriff’s Office and Hertford County Sheriff’s Office investigators.
The investigators then began to link cases in Windsor, Bertie County, Northampton County and Hertford County as well as other jurisdictions including Ahoskie, Rich Square, Woodland, and Jackson.
Through the course of the investigation, four suspects were identified and warrants were obtained from multiple agencies. Charges related to Bertie County Sheriff’s Office Cases include:
Treyon Shyquan Hill, age 18 of Rich Square, is charged with 15 counts of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts, and 10 counts of felony injury to personal property to obtain non-ferrous metals.
Joshuh Oneil Fisher Jr., age 19 of Rich Square, is charged with 15 counts of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts, and 10 counts of felony injury to personal property to obtain non-ferrous metals.
Davontae Quadell Boone, age 19 of Conway, is charged with nine counts of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts, and four counts of felony injury to personal property to obtain non-ferrous metals.
Macques Dominique Daye, age 35 of Conway is charged with 11 counts of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts, and nine counts of felony injury to personal property to obtain non-ferrous metals.
Daye and Hill were arrested on June 7 as law enforcement officers from the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office, Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, Hertford County Sheriff’s Office, Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Windsor Police Department, Ahoskie Police Department, Rich Square Police Department, Jackson Police Department North Carolina DMV License & Theft Bureau and SOIU (Special Operations intelligence Unit) with NC Division of Adult Corrections conducted a search of the four suspects.
Daye was booked into the Northampton County Jail under a $255,000 bond. Hill was booked into the Bertie Martin Regional Jail under a $390,000 bond.
