The following events are planned locally to celebrate Independence Day:

Monday, July 3: 5-10 p.m. at the Cultural and Wellness Center in Jackson featuring food and craft vendors. Music will be provided by Blackwater Rhythm and Blues Band. Fireworks show at dark.

Monday, July 3: 5-10 p.m. at the Roanoke Cashie River Center in Windsor with food and craft vendors. Music (Mixin Mike and the Mightly Saints of Soul) will precede the fireworks show at dark.

Tuesday, July 4: 6-10 p.m. at the Hertford County Courthouse, Winton featuring games, music, food trucks and fireworks.

Tuesday, July 4: Fireworks show begins at dark at Hertford County High School in Ahoskie.
