Northampton County Animal Welfare will conduct a series of rabies control clinics in September as follows:
Sept. 16 at the Northampton County Career and Technical Academy of Innovation (the former campus of Northampton County High School-East), located at 750 NCHS-East Road, Conway;
Sept. 23 at Gaston Middle School, located at 400 Broughton Street, Gaston; and
Sept. 30 at the Northampton County Health Department, located at 9495 NC HWY 305, Jackson.
Each of the clinics will begin at 9:30 a.m. and close at 12 noon. Please keep your dog or cat at your vehicle and wait for the rabies vaccinator to come to your vehicle.
The vaccinations will be administered by Dr. Hannah Parker and Kristy Jones.
There is no charge for Northampton County residents. A fee of $5 per animal will be charged to out-of-county residents.
State law requires a rabies vaccination for all dogs and cats that are over the age of four months. Regardless of the age of the dog or cat, the initial vaccination is only good for one year.
